Christmas Paper Mache (Helen Evans)

Christmas themed paper mache, we'll be making some fun art using recycled materials. The results are always amazing. Paper mache may be simple but is great for developing fine motor skills and 3D modelling techniques.

Christmas Embroidered Textiles (Helen Evans)

We will be learning simple embroidery stitches to make Christmas themed textile art. Embroidery is perfect for fine motor skills, concentration and perception. If your child is a previous student I will be showing them new stitches to extend their knowledge. As a bonus, embroidery is a rediscovered skill in the mindfulness movement, the ultimate slow art.

Chess (Neil Lossberg)

Strengthen your brain muscle! Playing chess requires strategic and critical thinking. It helps promote prefrontal cortex development and helps children make better decisions in all areas of life. All skill levels from beginner to advanced are welcome.

Grasshopper Soccer (Mauricio Marino)

Grasshopper Soccer program is a great complement to club soccer or a good alternative for those parents who want their kids to focus on developing skills without exposing them to competition. Children are divided into 3 groups according to age and skill level: Intro to Micro (5-6 yo), Micro (6-8 yo) and Micro Plus (8-12 yo). Participants will learn new ball skills every week with 3 fun and challenging games which will then culminate in a 'Big Game' of 3v3, 4v4 or 5v5. Kids from Micro Plus will be playing more challenging games that will teach them more about team play and positioning on the field, while still keeping the fun in the game.

Yoga (Vicki Murtagh)

Children's Yoga - Chakra Play.  This course is an old time favourite amongst the ones that the children often refer back to. This term at yoga the children will explore the life skills of yoga, meditation, breathing and conscious body movement whilst exploring through fun interactive ways the concept of chakra and inner energy. The children will explore the sensation and movement of inner energy through the use of movement, meditation and visualisation. This assists young people in developing an awareness that there is more to themselves than what they think about themselves and what they see in the mirror. This awareness is an incredible foundation for developing self-confidence and self-esteem. The sessions are fun, interactive, challenging, inspiring and captivating. Yoga is a wonderful art that allows children to develop their capabilities without competition or comparison. Having worked with children for over two decades and having specifically taught children's yoga now for one decade there is a wide range of expertise that ensures the children are enjoying and venefiting from this extra-curricular activity.

Guitar (Rob Reeves)

Rob has been teaching in Samford for over a decade, providing quality affordable tuition, teaching fundamentals of music, guitar, and playing with others. Students will need their own guitar, or I have some guitars for hire as well - call to enquire.
