Opened in 1872, Samford State School remained relatively small until the past fifteen years brought a steady increase in families moving into the area. Currently, there are 824 children enrolled in the school. Notwithstanding its size, the close-knit country feel of school and community has endured.

A strong emphasis on literacy and numeracy is maintained, and planning takes account of the Strategic Direction of Education Queensland, the aggregated views of the Samford State School Community and the considerable experience and expertise of its staff. Participation and endeavour by students, teachers, other staff members, parents and the community will contribute to the excellent learning outcomes to which the school is committed.

The school has adopted the 'You Can Do It' program as a means of developing the important foundation attributes of Organisation, Persistence, Confidence, Getting Along and Resilience. This program plays an important role in daily life at the school.

There is a strong sense of pride at Samford State School; pride in the magnificent grounds, in the very high academic achievements of the children, in the children’s appearance and conduct, the teaching standards, the facilities and the general resources. We hope that you and your children will look back on your years at Samford with pride too, and fond memories of hard work, rewarding experiences and life-long friendships.
