Our STRIVE Playgroup fosters an informal and relaxed weekly get-together of mums, dads, grandparents, carers, children and babies.
We are encouraging all babies and young children (0-5 years) within our Samford community to join in the wide variety of experiences to foster fun, laughter, learning.
As a new parent, the first year of your baby's life will be full of learning, excitement, challenges and expectations. Our Playgroup gives parents and carers the opportunity to meet, share ideas and talk about the joy and challenges of our young one’s successful transition into our school environment.
What are the benefits of our Samford State School STRIVE playgroup?
Regularly participating in play with other young children can help a child's:
- physical development: crawling, sitting, rolling and learning to make mouth movements
- language and literacy development: face-to-face interaction/non-verbal skills
- sensory development: recognising sounds, their name and tone of voice
- emotional and social development: recognising objects and people
- cognitive development: recognising and identifying objects.
