Every student at Samford State School is involved in an engaging classroom music program. Students learn to read, write and perform music in a variety of styles. They sing as well as play tuned and untuned percussion, recorder and ukulele. Upper year levels also get the opportunity to use music technology to create compositions, including music based on characters from books they are learning in class. Students use Garageband, as well as other apps, to create loop-based composition, adding to the connectedness of the music curriculum. The needs of the 21st Century learner are well met through this addition of technology, as well as more traditional learning to enhance the musicality of every student.
